Senator joins group for panel discussion on Nevada’s role December 16, 2008 Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today introduced an unprecedented blue ribbon panel of leaders from government, industry, science and labor, which met for an important panel discussion about the future of renewable energy in the Silver State and throughout the country. Meeting at the Fifth Street School, the panel talked about setting energy priorities at the local, state, and federal levels. Reid hosted the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas in August, setting national priorities for the advancement of a clean energy revolution, and this panel will advance the work done at the summit. “The clean energy revolution is coming, and Nevada must be at its forefront,” Reid said. “For our economy, our environment and our national security, our state must develop its wealth of renewable resources and help end our dependence on dirty unsustainable energy sources. This panel represents the wide range of Nevadans eager to come together and turn this potential into reality.” The panel will continue to meet on a regular basis to work toward solutions for our clean energy future. ###
