Funds to benefit Carson City, Clark, White Pine, Lyon, Douglas, Washoe, and Nye Counties December 31, 2009 Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced more than $2.2 million in funding for emergency food and shelter programs in Carson City, as well as Clark, White Pine, Lyon, Douglas, Washoe, and Nye Counties. The funds will supplement food, shelter, rent, mortgage, and utility assistance programs for people with non-disaster related emergencies. “This money will help Nevada’s hungry and homeless,” Reid said. “While we continue to turn our economy around, these funds will provide a safety net for those who need it most.”
