Reid Statement on State Senator Bill Raggio's Retirement

January 5, 2011

Washington, D.C.--Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement after Senator Bill Raggio, the longest-serving state senator in Nevada history, announced his retirement.

“Nevada will lose a true leader when Bill Raggio retires this month.  Respected by both Democrats and Republicans alike, Senator Raggio has always been a fierce advocate for Nevada and his constituents throughout his long career in the Nevada State Senate.  I thank him for the support he offered me over the years and for his work on behalf of our state.  Bill is a true statesman and his voice will be sorely missed.”
