Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for the Eureka Airport in the amount of $251,655. The grant is to provide funding to rehabilitate the runway lighting which has reached the end of its useful life.
“I’m pleased that the Federal Aviation Administration has continued to fund Nevada’s rural airports, which are in need of vital flight and ground safety related projects. This particular award will fund new runway lighting, which is imperative to safe flying operations in Eureka. Airports are the lifeblood of economic activity in many counties throughout Nevada, including Eureka, and I remain committed doing everything I can to support Nevada’s rural airports.”
