Washington, D.C.- Nevada Senator Harry met this week with Nevada Law Enforcement Officers honored by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) for its annual Top Cops Award. The honorees, members of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Henderson Police Department, and the Las Vegas field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, were honored at the White House for their efforts in capturing wanted murderer Jason Baires after a gun fight. NAPO launched the awards program in 1994 and recipients are nominated by fellow officers for outstanding service.
“These heroic individuals put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe,” said Reid. “When I was a law student in Washington, D.C., I served as a Capitol Police officer and I fully understand the grave challenges these Nevada law enforcement members face. I admire their bravery in the line of duty and I remain committed to helping our federal and local law enforcement keep our neighborhoods secure and free of crime.”
