Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today released the following statement after President Obama announced his intention to appoint John Farahi to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council.
“It was my pleasure to recommend John to President Obama for a position on the Holocaust Memorial Council. For years, I have admired John’s leadership and advocacy for the Jewish community in Nevada. Whether it was providing financial support or donating his time to a charitable cause, John is a tireless advocate for his community. I am confident that John will be an important voice on the council and I am glad President Obama agreed.”
INFORMATION ON THE HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL COUNCIL The Holocaust Memorial Council is the governing board of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. Members of the board are appointed by the President and serve five-year terms. John Farahi is the only Nevadan on the council.
