Washington, D.C. — Analysis from the Senate Health Education, Labor, and Pensions and Senate Finance committees of Congressional Budget Office’s report on the Senate health reform bill reveals significant savings in premium costs to Nevada’s families. Nevada Senator Harry Reid today said that Nevadans could save as much as $600 for a single policy and $1,600 on a family policy over the course of a year.
“This is exactly the kind of cost cutting relief that Nevadans need now,” said Reid. “By creating real competition, cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse, and preventing insurance practices like gender discrimination and rate hikes when people get sick, we can reduce the costs of premiums for Nevadans and all Americans. This is one more reason why we need to pass health insurance reform now, protecting patients and making health care affordable.”
