I take great pride in the opportunity to nominate young men and women as candidates to the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy and West Point.  Nominations are not needed to go the Coast Guard Academy; however, my academy coordinators would be happy to assist you with any information you may need. 

In order to be considered for a nomination, you must contact one of my academy coordinators in either my Reno or Las Vegas office and submit the following items:

• Office Application - which can be obtained from one of my state offices or downloaded by clicking here
• SAT/ACT scores
• Three letters of recommendation (limited to your principal, guidance counselor, high school teachers and coaches)
• Official high school transcript that shows your cumulative grade point average (GPA) and your class ranking.  If you are in prep school or college, please provide transcripts through your senior year. 

Things To Remember

The above items must reach my Reno or Las Vegas office no later than November 4th - which is the closing date for this year's applications.  Unless all items are received by November 4th, you will not be eligible for further consideration.

Please be sure to notify my academy coordinators of any changes to your file (e.g. updated SAT/ACT scores, change of address, etc.).  Also, be sure to alert any individuals sending information or letters on your behalf to use the Reno or Las Vegas addresses below so that they do not mistakenly send your materials to my Washington office.

It is important that you are in direct contact with the academies so that they can send you a pre-candidate questionnaire and other information.  If you have not contacted the academies, my academy coordinators would be happy to assist you.

Academy Day

Lastly, my office hosts an annual Academy Day in Reno and in Las Vegas every year around April.  The purpose of Academy Day is to give potential candidates and their parents the opportunity to meet with representatives from the various U.S. Academies and my staff.  Please be sure to ask about Academy Day when you contact my staff.
